As a sub consultant to Burt Hill Architects, GROUPE was responsible for the land planning, design and engineering of all infrastructure; a road, water, sanitary sewer through a low-pressure force, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, boundary and topographic surveys and record plats for the new 40,000 square foot Dahlgren research building for The University of Mary Washington. GROUPE incorporated Low Impact Development (LID) techniques as part of the stormwater management design for the site and contributed to the project’s LEED Gold Certification. The project required extensive coordination with the private sector developer who provided the utility and transportation access. In addition, GROUPE assisted during the construction phase with periodic site inspections, schedule coordination, and shop drawing reviews.
